Blockquote is one of HTML tags type. It is naturally and should be used to mark some words or content inside it as a quotation. The quotation itself shows that the content inside it is obtained from another site or book.

Yeah, everyone must know about the quotation, so what is the big deal about it anyway? Did you notice that every standard WP or WordPress Themes on theme directory must have a special css style on blockquote tags? So every content inside blockquote tag will have special color and appearance.

This kind of rule can be used for us when we wanna leave a comment on blogs, specially WordPress blogs. You may see that there are posts with too many comments on the page. Of course, they are have different words but still in the same color. Visitor or maybe the owner will not able to take reading it all in “monochromatically”.

So to make visitor read my word and take their attention into it, i usually take advantage using blockquote tags when leaving a comment on crowded posts. The method is very simple. You just need to add additional <blockquote> on the beginning of your comment text and add </blockquote> on the end of the comment textarea.

The example comment with blockquote is like below:

<blockquote>
I agree with your opinion, government must doing like what you are talking about.
</blockquote>

And the result will be like:

With no blockquote:
I agree with your opinion, government must doing like what you are talking about.

With blockquote tag wrapped around:

I agree with your opinion, government must doing like what you are talking about.

You can see the difference between them, can’t you? However, this method or kind of trick does not work with all web platform. The big example is Blogger.com . I think they already known about the illegal use of this blockquote tags.
