Almost bloggers want to get free backlinks to their site. The backlink itself can improves the PageRank and real web traffic to the linked site. More high the pagerank of the linker, more profit and benefit we get from it. The backlink i mean here is backlink from high PR (PageRank) site.
But it is not that easy to get high valued backlinks from “big” sites or those who manage to get more than 5 PageRank. But did you notice that some social bookmarking sites gives a lot of backlink to your site if you are active?
One of my favourites is BlogCatalog. It has 7 PageRank now. Besides that, BlogCatalog build do-follow structure for any outgoing links. I think those are good and strong reason for me to choose it.
It is true that BlogCatalog automatically fetch your feed URL periodically. But to get the maximum links from them, i suggest some tips below:
-
Enter the Search Result
The search result i am talking about is BlogCatalog’s. You won’t get any fresh backlinks from your automated recent post feed, because it link to the framed site. But you will get real backlink if someone search something and your post appear on the result. So search the topic your post may appear about
-
Active on Groups
To promote your URLs efficiently, you have to active talking and discuss on the Groups or Discussion. If it is allowed, don’t hesitate to show your blog url, just type it normally and the BlogCatalog will render it as textlink linked to your Blog URL.

Submit Your Site to Site Directories This is a great way to get high quality and high ranked sites to link to you. Submit Article
From what I know, even the site has high pr, but the link we got basically is n/a.
Blogcatalog uses only nofollow-structure. You can check this with Firefox and SeoQuake easily.
“But did you notice that some social bookmarking sites gives a lot of backlink to your site if you are active?” – That’s not coming from those sites, but from Google. You can see this effect also at digg, twitter, etc. If you are active on daily basis you get many backlinks to your profile and PageRank. If you go on vacation you will lose it.
