If you are running big sites or popular blogs, you must have a lot of comments in your page. It does not matter where are the relevant and the spam, but a page with more than 100 comments in one page must be disturbing your new visitor to read them. As a result, some of your comments will not be read by your visitor. Sometimes, comments give more value to your post, so visitor will lose out some information if this happens.

So, what is my reckon? Use a comment page of course. Anyways, you can use wordpress standard comment page but sometimes, it does not work for most themes. Besides that, it is not SEO friendly to pagerize your comment by creating multiple pages with the different comments but with same content.

I recently developed a new plugin called AJAX Comment Page . You can download it officially from WordPress Plugin Directory. It will surely pagerize your comments into pages but load it AJAX-edly. The simple explanation is, the page is still completely loads all of your comments but the JavaScript and JQuery divides them into pages which will be navigated with AJAX and use an animation.

This way is the safest way for SEO. Search Engines and Bot will normally see your page as a complex page with 100 comments count but the visitor only see 5 or 10 comments per comment pages.

Beside that, i think it will make a better look on your site using its jQuery and AJAX animation. I hope you are gonna love it :-)

    hello does this work?

  26. Litbea says:

    I’m having “You do not have enough right…” problem too. What a pity…

    And… ¿why isn’t this comments section using this plug-in?

  27. Litbea says:

    I manage to see it in action by:
    – rcopying options.php –> options.php.old
    – editing options.php “update_option(”comments_max”,2);” –> “update_option(”comments_max”,$_POST["count"]);” but it just worked once.
    Now, I’m stuck again… :-(

  28. Litbea says:

    sorry for the mistakes: the comment should say
    – copying options.php –> options.php.old
    – editing options.php “update_option(”comments_max”,$_POST["count"]);” –> “update_option(”comments_max”,2);”

  29. Litbea says:

    I’ve finally managed to enter the options page. Seems to be an error while redirecting as entering http://www.yoursite.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ajax-comment-page/options.php opens options page.
    But, there there is another error:
    “Number of Maximum Comments should be loaded per comment pages :” and a text box which says “Fatal error:”.

    Re-stuck

    • Steve says:

      The issue with loading the options page is down to wordpress security updates. Presumably this plugin was developed with 2.7.
      The fix is simple enough, open plug.php and change this (line 38):
      add_action(’admin_head’,'ajax_comment_page_options’);
      to this:
      add_action(’admin_menu’,'ajax_comment_page_options’);

      However i now have a new problem – the comment navigation is not viewable in IE, though it works fine in firefox!

      If i fix that i will post the fix here.
